Col Calvin Chasteen
To all GLCM warriors, I am sad to say that this Country has lost a great warrior and that the 485th has lost a great leader, I know that everyone who served under Col Chasteen had the utmost respect for him and his lovely wife Karen. I represent an association of GLCM warriors who today feel a deep sense of loss. Col Chasteen was the 485th--our leader, mentor and our friend. All our lives have been touched by his leadership and compassion. We are all better citizens and leaders based on his impact. Today we grieve with Karen and the Chasteen family and pray for them in the days to come. We know that our Commander is in a better place with our God who is saying to him , well done my faithful servant. Karen if there is anything you need from us, we stand ready.
